Panther Nation Delivers — and So Did the County
We have an update on our funding request to the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners.
After submitting our formal request Tuesday night — the same night our girls won the regional championship in penalty kicks — and following up with the Board on the urgency of the timeline, we received confirmation this morning that the Board has approved a $10,000 grant to support the Hibriten Women’s Soccer team’s State Championship appearance this Saturday in Durham.
We are grateful for the county’s support and proud of these girls for earning it.
We also want to say thank you to every single person who donated, shared, commented, and rallied behind this team and this community over the last 48 hours. Your response was immediate, overwhelming and exactly what Panther Nation is about. Those donations will continue to support ALL of our Hibriten athletes — including programs that represented Caldwell County at the state level this year and did so without any county support.
That part of the conversation isn’t over. But today is for the girls. ![]()

It’s amazing what a community coming together can accomplish — even when others need a little encouragement to do the right thing
Hibriten Panthers Let’s Rally for Our Girls and ALL Our Athletes!
By now many of you have seen that our Women’s Soccer team is headed to the NCHSAA State Championships this Saturday — and that we are still awaiting a response from the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners on our funding request.
Regardless of what the county decides, we are not waiting. That’s not what Panther Nation does.
We are asking for your support through donations to the Hibriten Athletic Booster Club. Here is exactly where your dollars will go, in priority order:
First — Supporting the Hibriten Women’s Soccer team’s State Championship appearance this Saturday, including travel, meals, and helping get as many students and supporters to the game as possible.
Beyond that — Any funds raised above what the girls need, or offset by any county funding that comes through, will go directly toward:
- Retroactively supporting our teams who competed at State Championships this year in Swimming, Indoor Track, Outdoor Track and Wrestling — programs that received zero county funding despite podium finishes and a State Championship in the men’s 4×800 relay
- Our athlete benevolence and support fund, which helps students in need across ALL programs
- School improvement initiatives that go above and beyond what county funding provides
- Continuing to build a foundation that supports every Panther athlete at every level
These girls earned their shot at a state title. Let’s make sure they know Panther Nation has their back — and that every Hibriten athlete knows they are valued and supported.
Go Panthers! ![]()
